Notes
Satina noted that this was the 6th Symphony Concert in the season of the Moscow Philharmonic Society, beginning at 9pm, also indicating that it was the first performance in Moscow of both Rachmaninoff’s 'The Bells', op. 35, and the works by Roger-Ducasse and Ravel. While Keldysh (p. 348) and the History of Russian Music (vol. 10V, book 1, p. 189) listed this concert as being on February 3, attached reviews from Ranneye Utro and Russkoye Slovo confirm the date, the second also crediting Ulrikh Avranek as the choirmaster. The review from Ranneye Utro refers to a Mr Buskevich as the tenor soloist, presumably in error. LoC, Sergei Rachmaninoff Archive, ML31.R33, Papers of Sophie Satin, boxes 82-89.
