Solo Pianist
Notes
Satina’s notes for this concert are not clear. She initially indicates that this is the program according to information received from Mr Tillett. However, in a review she has found in Music Opinion, Rachmaninoff also played the Bach-Tausig Toccata, a group of Russian works (Scriabin, Medtner, Borodin, and Rubinstein), but no Scarlatti. This later opinion then appears to be backed up by a pencilled note: ‘Correct – I was present. P Piggott’. LoC, Sergei Rachmaninoff Archive, ML31.R33, Papers of Sophie Satin, boxes 82-89.
