The concert was listed by Satina, and presumably, therefore, by Rachmaninoff in his notebook, yet for there to be an absence of both advance press notices and reviews in a major city like New York raises a question about the event. A note to letter 583, written on April 18, in Literaturnoye nasledie (vol. 2, p. 426), in relation to Rachmaninoff's charitable activities toward friends and former colleagues in Russia at the time (which notes the earlier concert on April 2), also states that a piano recital was given on April 21 in New York to help needy Russian students in America.
